Book Oside Direct is a technology platform and booking facilitator that connects independent Oceanside Hosts with Guests. These documents form the framework for how the Platform, Hosts, and Guests interact. They are drafted for consistency and are intended for review by qualified legal counsel before being relied upon.

Defined terms used across Book Oside legal documents

  • Book Oside / Company / we / us — Book Oside Direct, a technology platform and booking facilitator.
  • Platform Services (or Platform) — the Book Oside website, mobile experience, and related technology services.
  • Host — a person or entity listing a Property through the Platform Services.
  • Guest — a person who books or occupies a Property through the Platform Services.
  • Property / Listing — a short-term rental accommodation offered by a Host.
  • Booking — a confirmed reservation for a Property.
  • Booking Fees — the total charged to a Guest at checkout, comprising the nightly subtotal, cleaning fee (if any), the 7% service fee, damage protection fee, and applicable taxes.
  • Payout — the amount remitted to a Host after deducting the Commission and applicable adjustments.
  • Commission — the 7% platform fee retained by Book Oside on each Booking's nightly subtotal.
  • TOT — the City of Oceanside Transient Occupancy Tax, currently 11.5%.
