This Privacy Policy describes how Book Oside Direct collects, uses, and shares personal information across the Platform.
1. Scope
This Policy applies to the Book Oside Direct website, applications, and related services (the “Platform”). It applies to visitors, Guests, and Hosts. It does not cover the independent practices of Hosts or third parties whose services are linked from the Platform.
2. Information we collect
- Account data: name, email, phone number, password credentials, role (Host or Guest), and profile details.
- Booking data: Property, dates, Guest count, pricing, messages, and stay history.
- Payment data: processed by our third-party payment processor. We receive limited information such as the last four digits of the card, brand, and transaction status; we do not store full card numbers.
- Host payout data: business or bank information required to issue ACH payouts, kept only as long as needed.
- Verification and safety data: information used to prevent fraud, resolve disputes, and enforce our policies.
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser, device identifiers, pages visited, and referring URLs.
- Communications: messages you send through the Platform or to our support team.
3. How we use information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Platform.
- Process Bookings, payments, and payouts.
- Communicate confirmations, updates, and service messages.
- Provide customer support and resolve disputes.
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Comply with legal obligations, including tax reporting.
- With your consent, send marketing communications; you can opt out at any time.
4. How we share information
- Between Hosts and Guests: to complete a Booking, we share the information reasonably necessary (e.g., Guest name, arrival details, contact method).
- Service providers: payment processing, hosting, email delivery, analytics, and support tools that act on our instructions.
- Legal and safety: where required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights, property, or safety.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
We do not sell personal information for money.
5. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies as described in the Cookie Policy. You can control cookies through your browser and, where available, through in-Platform preferences.
6. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Platform, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Booking records are typically retained for at least seven years to satisfy tax and accounting requirements.

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No system is completely secure; you are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and limit certain uses of sensitive personal information. 9. Children
The Platform is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International users
The Platform is operated from the United States. If you access it from another country, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States.

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-Platform notice.
