Legal — v1.1 · Effective January 1, 2026
Payout Policy
The rules governing Payouts, including how they are calculated, when they are released, and how they are delivered.
1. Payout calculation
Each Payout is calculated on a per-Booking basis as follows:
- Nightly subtotal
- Plus: cleaning fee (if any) collected from the Guest and designated as Host revenue
- Minus: 7% Company commission on the nightly subtotal
- Minus: refunds, chargebacks, damage settlements owed to the Guest, and taxes remitted on the Host's behalf
The Guest service fee and damage protection fee are retained by the Company (or its insurance partner, where applicable) and are not included in the Payout. The City of Oceanside TOT is collected from the Guest and, where the Company has undertaken to do so, remitted directly by the Company.
2. Phase 1: manual ACH payouts
During Phase 1 of the Platform, Payouts are issued manually by ACH bank transfer in U.S. dollars to a U.S. bank account. Hosts must submit and keep current their bank details through their Host dashboard.
- Release trigger. Payouts are released after the Guest has successfully checked in and any 24-hour post-check-in issue window has passed.
- Batching. Eligible payouts are batched and initiated weekly.
- Timing. Once initiated, ACH transfers typically settle in 1–3 business days depending on the receiving bank.
- Holds. Payouts may be held for investigation of chargebacks, damage claims, refund disputes, or suspected fraud.
3. Future automated payouts
The Company plans to introduce automated payouts through a third-party payments partner in a future release. Automated payouts are not currently live and no launch date is promised. When available, they will be governed by supplemental terms presented at that time, including any onboarding, identity verification, and payout schedule of the payments partner.
4. Currency and fees
- All payouts are in U.S. dollars.
- Standard ACH transfers do not incur a Platform fee. Fees from the receiving bank (e.g., international wire fees, if approved on an exception basis) are the Host's responsibility.
5. Reversals and adjustments
If a Booking is later refunded, charged back, or a damage settlement is awarded to a Guest after a Payout has been issued, the Company may offset the amount from future Payouts or, if necessary, invoice the Host directly. Hosts agree to cooperate in these reconciliations.
6. Taxes and reporting
The Company may be required to collect tax identification information from Hosts (for example, a Form W-9) and issue tax forms such as 1099-K where thresholds apply. Hosts are responsible for their own income tax reporting and for taxes not collected and remitted by the Company.
7. Inactivity and dormant accounts
Payouts that cannot be delivered due to invalid or outdated bank information will be held pending updated details. Amounts unclaimed for extended periods may be handled in accordance with applicable unclaimed property laws.
8. Disputes
Payout disputes must be raised in writing within 60 days of the Payout in question, with sufficient detail (Booking code, expected amount, dispute reason).
