Community Standards

1. Be safe

• Hosts maintain working smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms (where applicable), and a fire extinguisher, and post clear emergency information.
• Guests do not tamper with safety devices and follow posted safety instructions for pools, hot tubs, decks, and beach access.
• Anyone with knowledge of an imminent safety issue contacts local emergency services first and Book Oside Direct promptly.

2. Be respectful to neighbors

• Observe the City of Oceanside quiet hours (typically 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM).
• Follow posted parking rules; do not block driveways or bike lanes.
• Manage trash, recycling, and pet waste responsibly.
• No parties or events at a Property without the Host's prior written approval.

3. Be honest

• Hosts describe Properties accurately, use current photos, and disclose material issues.
• Guests provide accurate occupancy information and disclose pets, events, or special needs at booking.
• Reviews reflect actual experiences and do not include false, defamatory, or misleading statements.

4. Be inclusive

• Discrimination on the basis of race, color, ancestry, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital or familial status, disability, or any other protected class is prohibited.
• Reasonable accommodations for assistance animals and accessibility needs must be provided in accordance with applicable law.

5. Protect the coast

• Follow beach rules, lifeguard directions, and posted advisories.
• Do not remove protected wildlife, plants, or historical items.
• Dispose of cigarette butts, food waste, and single-use plastics responsibly.

6. Zero tolerance

The following will result in immediate removal from the Platform and, where appropriate, referral to law enforcement:

• Violence, threats, harassment, or hate speech.
• Trafficking, exploitation of minors, or sexual assault.
• Illegal drug activity or unlawful possession of firearms at a Property.
• Fraud, identity theft, or deliberate misuse of payments.

7. Reporting

Neighbors, Guests, and Hosts can report concerns to Book Oside Direct support. We take reports seriously, investigate in good faith, and cooperate with authorities where appropriate.
